Really by reading man lilo, it says ;

       -u device-name
              Uninstall lilo, by copying the saved boot sector
              back. A time-stamp is checked.

The file concerned is /boot/boot 0x00 where the x = 3 hda 4 hdb etc.
That file is created when lilo is installed for the first time.
So a possable example;

lilo -u /dev/hda ??

If that fails then possably usinh dos fdisk /mbr might fix it.
