I asked an @Home guy this same question and the answer was "yes".  The only
reason they have a minimum requirement is that (in the case of @Home) they 
have special software you can (optionally) run.  If you aren't using that
software your minimum requirement reverts to whatever other software you are
running (Netscape, etc).
