Slink is the code name of the current stable release (2.1) of Debian. The
current unstable version (2.2) is named potato. I'm told the names, as well
as the names of older releases of Debian (e.g., hamm), come from the movie
_Toy Story_, but I haven't seen it and don't actually know.
I'm in the habit of using the names rather than the numbers because Debian's
version numbering is close to the current kernel version numbering, making
it easier to misunderstand "Debian 2.1" (which uses kernel 2.0.36 but can be
upgraded to 2.2.13) than, say, "Red Hat 6.1".
