i issue the following comands :
slattach -p slip -s 38400 /dev/ptypf &
sleep 3
ifconfig sl0 pointopoint 44.163.68.11 mtu 1536 44.163.68.20
sleep 3
route add 44.163.68.11 sl0
sleep 3
route add -net 44.0.0.0 netmask 255.0.0.0 gw 44.163.68.11
sleep 3
then i issue :
ifconfig sl0
and i get :
sl0 Link encap:Serial Line IP
inet addr:44.163.68.20 P-t-P:44.163.68.20 Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1536 Metric:1
RX packets:132 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:90 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:10
notice it has the same ip address for both ends of the point to point link
and that is *not* what was specified in the ifconfig command. what did i
miss here? thanks for any help.
