That indicates that there is a problem with the fonts wihch are
located in

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/

As of redhat 6.0 things have been changed, so here are 2 different
ways of defining default fonts, of course the fonts must be installed
in the given directorys.

Old way.

edit /etc/X11/XF86Config at Section "Files"

Place the following;

        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi

Or the new Redhat-as of 6.0 way.

edit same file at the same place and put;

FontPath   "unix/:-1"

Now edit /etc/X11/fs/config

Place the following at or around line 19/20

catalogue = /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,
        /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi

If of course they are not already there.

Make sure you have the fonts installed.
Other may have beter advise for you also.
