when i wrote my reply, my isp was unreachable, (hum) anyway i just
have, you need tulip.o as your module.
Edit /etc/conf.modules and add the following line.
alias eth0 tulip
now boot with a kernel that has tulip support compiled as a module,
ie, 2.2.5-15 and if all goes according to plan doing ifconfig after
logging in should show the interface has been upped.
