'lsmod' shows all loaded modules.
'rmmod' removes unwanted modules. (if there not in use).

BUT having said that normaly speaking when one is running a normaly installed
kernel with "kmod" or "kerneld" then unwanted modules get unloaded automaticly,
thats a sort of linux magic and further more that should have no effect on the
speed of your system in general.

Now i wonder why you ask.???

I think its best if you send us the output  of 'ps ax'  and the output of
lsmod (use your mouse to cut and paste to your mailer).
