kde instead gome default

Hi all.
firts question
I,m using RH 6.0 and I prefer  Kde than ghome (at this moment) GUI.
In that distro Ghome  is  the default , Can I edit some  file  to enter
directely  after  login -in  with no
addicional selection ?
second question
I possible to enter  in console mode  instead in X.mode  in that distro
editing /modifiing  a  file?.
