Could somebody please, please help me out? A few days ago, a poster had
a similar question about running Doom, and unfortunately my Inbox has
since been trashed (don't ask how). I don't remember the exact answers
given, but my problem is as follows:

I have lxdoom 1.4.1 successfully installed. But my question is how do I
run it? I've had the same problem with Licq and other applications. I
can untar, run ./configure then make, etc. all with no problem, but then
I'm stuck.

Then only thing I've been able to run is Quake 3 Test, by running
./quake3 from the root directory. So, I thought this is how I should
run Doom, Licq, etc. But no luck.

I have tried running "exec lxdoom", "lxdoom", "lxdoom-1.4.1", and
obviously I'm doing something wrong.

What is the exact command to run? Does it matter what directory I am in?
The Lxdoom install file doesn't cover this questions. I also have three
books on Linux, and none of them cover the exact way to run a program
from the command line.

I have read the Dos to Linux how-to, (and several other how-to's) and
have never found an answer to this question. I would love it if
somebody could help me out with this. I'm sorry I didn't catch the
answer the first time around, but could somebody please repost the
answer?

Tearing my hair out,

Steve
