Well, er, in the case of this newbie, just ignorance :). I log-in to
Linux on my PC with the username "jt" just because it's quicker than
typing "jtucker". I'm using PINE for email along with sendmail and
fetchmail.
I found I could easily configure fetchmail to collect jtucker's mail and
deliver it into /home/jt/mail. But I didn't find any way of doing the
equivalent trasformation on sendmail. My mail was being sent out as if
from "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", rather than "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". No good for
joining mailing lists!
In the end (from a posting to the Tokyo Linux Users Group) I found how to
configure pine to create and use a Reply-To field with my ISP based email
address "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". So that's what I do.
Is there a better way please?
