 I don't know for sure. Did you tell the bios about the IDE drives?
 If you change it so the BIOS doesn't know about the IDE drives, can you
 re-run lilo and boot off of your SCSI disks?

 could you show the output of 
 cat /etc/lilo.conf
 ?

 that's my thoughts.
