Yeah, I 'm not quite sure why this turned into a discussion about grep. Your
results probably mean that you have a version of X on your system older than
the one that supports your card. I checked here, for example, and my older
(kernel 2.0, "slink") Debian systems don't include MediaGX while my newer
(kernel 2.2, "potato") Debian systems do ... no great shock, as the SVGA
server is constantly being updated to support new cards.
