This depends on the type of radiation that you are concerned with. If you
are worried about the harmful X ray radiation emitted by the electron gun,
the answer is NO. The tube part of the monitor consists of two major
components: the faceplate and the funnel. Both the faceplate and the funnel
are made of lead glass. The lead component of the glass effectively shields
the viewer of the harmful X ray radiation.
However, if you are concerned with radio radiation interference I suspect
there will be no real risk. (Assuming the case was made of plastic.)
Plastic is not a real good shield for radio interference. Thus a broken
case probably will have minimal effect.
Hope this is helpful,

Subject: Philips Brilliance 1410
Hi All!
Does anyone have a 14" Philips Brilliance 1410 monitor? I need the
specifications for it. I've looked on the 'net and can find only the
15"
and 17" specs. I don't think that I should use that.
Also a general question... I was given this monitor. The guy who had
it
dropped it and cracked the case. On the front upper right corner is
a 2mm
by 10mm crack. The monitor itself works fine, but should I worry
about
radiation? If so, what can I do?
Thanks!
