I just know this is going to sound confusing. I want as much as possible to simulate a small office network from my dial-up ISP account, even though I'm limited to using a dynamically assigned IP. Part 1 of my simulation is to allow somone who is external to my home network, to access a database (MSACCESS) running on my windows machine. My dialup machine is linux of course. like this External_machine -->My_linuxServer-->Masqued_win_machine_DB As I see it there are two options 1. Access via the internet 2. Access via a dialup PPP account on the Linux box I'm guessing that option 2 is the safest of the two so any hints about what programs, utils, man pages are the most relevant ? Any references to sites about this kind of setup would also be appreciated.
