Forgive me Gary But I'm not sure what your asking are you trying to plug the
NT Box, The Linux Box and the cable modem into the same hub?
this will not work.

you will need to put two network cards in the linux machine(One for local
one for Cable, then set up IP Masquerading between the two interfaces.

Are you simply wondering how to set up the DHCP? Who is your Cable Provider?
Have you read  the cable modem mini-howto? (it might not be located at
metalab anymore Check /usr/doc)
