Don't be certain of this. There are enough strange things out there that
even this **might** work. I just heard about a setup where an ISP is using
PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) on new connections, probably to provide bandwidth
control. We learned, tomy surprise, that by simply sonnecting a hub to the
ISP's modem-like device, a household can make multiple PPPoE connections and
secure multiple DHCP leases. Go figure.

You are right, though, that this is **probably** not what the poster has.
I've already replied to his question separately; you'll see that (Chris)
whenever vger gets around to sending it out.
