Hello friends,

first of all, I'd like to thank everyone on this list (especially Ray and
Greg Olszewski) who have taken plenty of their time to help me in
my dilemmas.

I have yet another question: a while back I was setting up a server,
running RH6.1, connected to the internet via ADSL (Bell
Sympatico), with DHCP to assign IP numbers to other machines.

I got as far as setting up PPPoe without any problems the DHCP
server took a bit but started to work, and after a patch that set the
MTU, I was able to allow all the machines to browse the internet.

However, my friend now informs me that he is unable to browse the
web server on his own machine using Windows.

I am guessing that the patch that sets the MTU on the server, so
that the MTU of every machine doesn't have to be touched, is
conflicting with the local connection (perhaps it needs to be 1400
and not 1500 on the local machines at this point).

Any opinions?

I frankly have suggested that he'd keep the machine that's hooked
to the ADSL to a minimum.. just running FTP and TELNET and
turning off all his other services, but he insists in doing that.

Thank you everyone.
