graphics problem

hi,
   i have installed red-hat linux 6.1 .My problem is that the GUI which
gnome or kde or .... is displayed ,it does not display any text ,
instead there is a black box ,wherever the text has to be present.it shows
the rest of the graphics properly .i have tried with the Xconfigurator
,but the problem is not getting solved
