This would explain that both my drives don't respond anymore after a
access to the cdwriter. It was I meant by "scsi chain out of order".

I didn't have time yesterday to check in the hardware in my box, will do
it.

I got the sources of 2.2.14 but got some troubles while compiling the
modules. I have to clarify the problem before going further in the scsi
issue. I think my software issues don't meet the requested update
(Procps for example), and the modules are not installed. First I'm going
to see if a new and working kernel makes the law, else I will ask for
your help once again.
