Yes.  You obviously need to have some way of distinguishing them - ie the
binaries need different names.  Apart from that there should be no
problems I can think of.

Shouldn't be a problem.  However, it might be more sensible to have one
version as a set of small wrappers that simply call the other version to
save on disk space.

Don't know.  Have a look in the ncpfs package though.
