The lines above here are also too long the longest being 92 chars.
The lines below here are waaaaay toooo long, the longest 498, your getting
near to brakeing the record for the longest line ever. Please set your
editors line wrap to less that 80 chars.
Now the problem you are having with LILO.
First you dont say if you have any IDE drives, ?? its very important, if
you do then sda is not your first disk, /dev/hda is and thats where lilo
will try to install itself.
I recently brougt a scsi disk and tryed to instal lilo on it by defining
/dev/sda as the place to install lilo, i had the same sort of problem as
you have, but lilo when invoked will say something like;
/dev/sda is not the fist disk Aborting.
Could this be the exceptional error which is occuring.???
When you issue the command /sbin/lilo it will produce output to the screen,
whats the message it gives.?
I belive that is enough as Lawson has explained the rest.
