I was trying to set up my first linux server last night at home. The
installation went perfectly, no problems, no complications. The problem
came when I rebooted after the install. It gave me : " kernel panic :
Kernel compiled for Pentium+ " and of course, died.

What confuses me is that this is the same machine I used for my first ever
Linux installation, and the exact same RH6.0 CD I used to do this !!!!!
with the exception of the graphics card/monitor )

My Machine :

    486 DX/4 100
    24 mb RAM
    1.6 g hd
    NE2000 compatible Network card
    Generic serial mouse
    101 keyboard
    MDA/CGA Monitor / Card

I only have one SVGA monitor, and that's plugged into my PII, but AFAIK this
shouldn't be causing the problem.

( I'm sorry if I didn't give enough info, if this is the case please tell me
what else you need )

TIA for any info
    Clive
