i'm running RHL 6.0 kernel 2.2.5-15, with Gnome & KDE installed. My video
chipset is S3Trio3D 86c365 for AGP, which is still not supported for 24
bpp. With the X-server i'm using now, i've to accept a 16 bpp and discard
Netscape ( colour not stable, very troublesome to work with ). my
alternative for web-browsing is lynx, which i'm learning to use ( and i
think might be ok for me ). for e-mailing, i'm considering to try pine as
composer, because i think ( am i right? ) it can also functions as
news-reader ( USENET ). for delivery/pickup, i saw that sendmail and
fetchmail is already installed ( beside other mail applications as seen in
gnome-rpm ).
does anybody have any suggestions regarding which mua/mta to choose ? i
mean, not so difficult to learn and set up, but still compatible with other
OS. and, if possible, has the ability to work as news-reader too.
btw, i use my linux in my office. other stations are M$ and our office
network server is also M$NT. my mail activities are mostly into the net. my
internet access is through modem.
very many thanks for any opinions/suggestions.
