I have been trying to get pine to work and I still have one major problem. The "from:" line in a message sent with pine reads "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and I need it to read "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". Where "mike" is my user on this machine and "mlmiller" is the mail account at my ISP. I read the linux-newbie archive and didn't find an answer. I've tried two approaches with out success. 1.) I tried using RH 6.1 's linuxconf to edit my user name. That didn't work. I can create a new user that would match the ISP mail account, but that involves copying all the old user stuff to the new user and of course only works for one user. 2.) I tried changing sendmail.cf with linuxconf, but it didn't do what I expected it to do, which was to change the "from:" line in the header. This is what was added to sendmail.cf # Generated by linuxconf 1.16 ------------------------------------snip------------------------------------ # Masquerading rules S1 Rmike<@excel.net> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net> Rmike<@excel.net.> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net.> Rmike<@localhost.localdomain> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net> Rmike<@localhost.localdomain.> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net.> Rroot<@localhost> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net> Rroot<@localhost.> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net.> Rmike<@localdomain> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net> Rmike<@localdomain.> $@ mlmiller < @ excel.net.> There might have been other changes too, but this was what was obvious. Any advice will be appreciated.
