I try to run pppd on my laptop using eznet and get the following error:
[root@gagnonnote /root]# eznet up bis
/usr/sbin/pppd: The remote system (bis) is required to authenticate itself but
I
/usr/sbin/pppd: couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to
do so.
bis: pppd failure at 04:22PM Thu Mar 16, 2000
the ppp command is:
/usr/sbin/pppd /dev/modem 19200 connect '/usr/bin/eznet chat 0' lock modem mtu
552 mru 552 debug crtscts -detach idle 120 user root remotename bis
I have this working fine for the same phone # on my desktop, and using minicom
on my laptop I can connect to the same phone using minicom. I'm using RH6.0
and pppd 2.3.
Any ideas?
