I have Conectiva Linux 4.0, a patched version of Red Hat adapted to the
Spanish and Portuguese language.
I tried to install a game called KPacman (or something like that), that I
downloaded in a rpm package.
It said that it needed the libstdc++2.9 (the exact version I don't remember
now).
I downloaded this library also in rpm and installed.
To my surprise, even after the library was installed, the game can't find
the package, nor can any other package that requires it.
Using kpackage, I can see it installed.
AFAIK, this version installs its standard packages in another directory.
My question is: how can I "tell" my system that the package is already
installed? Or how can I tell the rpm that I am about to install (or any
other program) that the library is already installed, but in a different
location?

Any help would be appreciated.
