It can be at the beginning, a dot i belive is everything.
Also i belive a file with just a nameserver will even work, its just that
some programs what things like search and domain defined.
Named for example will bark at you if you dont have a dot after the domain,
i belive i am correct in saying that, i dont use named myself.
