After upgrading to 6.1 (from 5.2) everyitme I connect and run
/usr/sbin/pppd -d defaultroute /dev/ttyS0 38400, I get a horde of
messages. These continue even after, below is a sample:

sent [CCP ResetReq id=0x1d]
rcvd [Compressed data] 00 23 8f 40 a2 44 f0 77 ...
rcvd [CCP ResetAck id=0x1d]
rcvd [CCP ResetReq id=0x7]
sent [CCP ResetAck id=0x7]
----------------
etc. Why is this happening? Can I disable this? Must I?
