The answer to the first question is: normally, no! But there is a
program out there called BackOrifice (www.bo2k.com) which has a 'server'
side --installs on Windows and a 'client' side -- which installs either on
linux or Windows. You can do some pretty interesting stuff... :o)
About the second question, I know there is an utility out there which
reads ext2 filesystems, but can't remember the name right now... sorry.
