The most common thing when Apache is not serving pages at all is that you
have permission problems.

You should have rx access for 'other' for all your htdocs/ subdirectories,
and make sure you have a proper
<Directory  /abc/def/htdocs/ >
</Directory>

allowing access. My one look like...

DocumentRoot "/bali.io/htdocs"

<Directory "/bali.io/htdocs/">
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes
    AllowOverride None
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
</Directory>
