Are you certain that "lpd is running on ... printhost"? It doesn't need to
be actually running as a daemon for local printing to occur -- it will be
started by the local lpr as needed -- but it does need to be running as a
daemon for remote printing to work. And you report lpc on (I think) the
server as saying "no daemon present".
And BTW, is "commnet" another name for "printhost"?
