Dumb question, but this IS the newbies list:
What is the purpose of the first PATH in the following
statement?
PATH=$PATH:/usr/games
Does Unix (linux) know what a path is before it's
defined and exported? Am I just adding to a variable
already set by the system? The newbie doc's I have
don't call it a system varibale or anything like
that---is that what it is?
"man PATH" returns nothing on my OL2.3 system.
