Hi,

Thanks - but I have already tried the chmod +s pppd - the problem is I get
this error:

pppd: By default the remote system is required to authenticate itself
pppd: (because this system has a default route to the internet)
pppd: but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to
do so.

and I have also "crooked" the script to add a su - and then root password
and then running pppd!!

This allows pppd to be run and then the connection is established - sort
of....

NOW - the real problem occus - how to assign a IP and allow the client
system to have the access to the resources - ie internet connection that
the server has????

This is the error I get:

Apr 19 08:10:31 tag pppd[3630]: Peer is not authorized to use remote
address 192.168.1.74
Apr 19 08:10:31 tag pppd[3630]: Connection terminated.
Apr 19 08:10:31 tag pppd[3630]: Connect time 0.2 minutes.
Apr 19 08:10:31 tag pppd[3630]: Sent 259 bytes, received 314 bytes.
Apr 19 08:10:31 tag pppd[3630]: Exit.

Do you have any explanations????

ALSO - where can I get more info n getting mgetty to run pppd

Thanks Again

Tonino
