no man entry for...

I recently tried to access a man page and got the 
following error message "no manual entry for __."

I still have all of my man pages in /usr/man.
Does anyone know where I might look to enable
my man pages at the bash prompt.

I'm running Red Hat 6.0 kernel 2.2.5 on a Dell
Latitude LM pentium laptop.
