After a year with Linux in CLI mode -- samba and ip masq stuff --I'm
trying to get my feet wet with x-window.

I am using a S3 Trio3D AGP video card on a recent (6.x) version
of Mandrake. The motherboard and CPU is only a year old, with 64MB RAM,
which should be ample. However, after days of repeated failures trying to get
x to work through xf86config I thought I might bounce the problem off
this list while looking around the howtos and tutorials.

So far, I can startx to get one small corner of the window and a portion of
the "taskbar."

Has anybody had any success with S3 Trio3D AGP? Could someone
point to the right direction?

TIA
Shaggy
