I have the same problem on RH 5.9. As I found so far it is best to
run X server with XF86_VGA16 (only it supports maximal resolution I
found - 640x480 for this videocard ) & make your Virtual Resolution to 800 600. You
will have whole desktop, but it will be movable ( You can see only
part of it at the same time).
