Your partition does not really get formatted, but the file allocation
tables do get wiped.  You could try to change your partition type back to
NT, attempt to boot on it.  The partition tables and file allocation tables
and files are all kept in separate places (partition talbes at the
beginning of the drive).

Failing this, you will need to recover from a backup.  Remember, changing
the partition, may not necessarily boot the partition back to NT, but you
may be able to access files on it again.
