I can't speak for God, but whether this list can save you depends on what
you actually did. There are two possibilities.

If ALL you did was change the partition type of an existing partition,
without changing the numbers and sizes of the partitions, then try running
fdisk again and changing the type back to whatever the NT type is. See if
this restores access. It's a long shot, but it doesn't cost much to try it.
This sort of fix isn't SUPPOSED to work, but sometimes you get lucky. There
is actually a related HowTo,
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/Partition-Rescue.html ... it talks about
doing substantially the same thing using Partition Magic, to recover a Linux
partition deleted by DOS or Windows.

If that doesn't work, or if you did more than simply change the partition
type, you probably need to turn to one of the professional drive-recovery
services. That's expensive, and I don't know if the "important files" on the
partition are important enough to justify your spending the cost of this
solution (maybe $1000 ... haven't used anything like this in years, so I'm
not sure).

Aside from the mini-HowTo I mention above ... I can't find any Linux tools
for recovery of deleted partitions. You might want to inquire on an NT list
to see if there is a Windows solution.

BTW, I've assumed that after changing the partition table in fdisk, you
saved (wrote) the new table. If you didn't, your actual partition table is
unchanged and you don't have a problem.

Sorry I don't have any better news for you.
