Real newbie question this one but no apologies - we all have to start
somewhere...!
Just installed RH6.2 (completely new installation - no legacy version of
Linux) on Intel P90 based system with Intel chip set and nothing that
fancy or unusual (IDE Drives, 64 Mb RAM, Mach64 video, AH2940 SCSI card
for DDS2 tape drive, 3COM 3C509 NIC, SB compatible sound card)
Everything seemed pretty great for my first ever installation of Linux
(been doing NT for 10yrs+) and I even got the sound card to work first
time - then I tried to print.....
End of long story is that my installation doesn't seem to be able to
recognise the printer port as it starts up - Printer port is set normal
in the BIOS, IRQ7 378h (no conflicting devices) but Linux just won't
see it.
I'd be really grateful if anybody can tell me how to manually add a port
definition to my setup or explain why this could be happening - hope
there is enough background info above...
