I have not seen or found any GUI equivilent, but then I do live under a
rockb.
1) smbclient -L hostname will display available machines.
(hostname = any host or ip)
2)smbclient //servername/sharename will open an ftp like command prompt.
(the above //bit is not underlined, i just cant make this silly
MS outlook not do it.) :)
Have fun,

Subject: simulating networkneighbourhood in linux
hi,
in my office we have abt 300 machines running W95/NT and about 6 machines
running linux. now i wanted to see the 95 machines from my linuxbox. all
along i have been using 'smbmount' and make use of the 95 share.
1. how do i simulate some thing like the network neighbourhood of W95 in
linux?
2. how do i access a linux share in windows 95?
Thanks in advance
Ram Kumar
