-----------------^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this is NOT my opinion too, because:
with rdate / netdate a.s.o. you will adjust the time with a gap:
Sample: time 1 (own) = 2:15, time 2 (stratum1) = 2:20 - you will loose 5 Minutes
Sample: time 1 (own) = 2:20, time 2 (stratum1) = 2:15 - you will have all the
time between twice !
If you start to use ntp - you will NOT have this troubles because your own time
will adjust the cloock-speed ( running slower or faster) but dont loos a second!
So, the better way AFAIK is to install ntp!
