Am interested to see if anyone has created a script or knows of a package
to automate cutting of cds where the amount of data is larger than 650mb,
We have a box set up running rh6.1 with xcdroast loaded. Here's the
situation.
When an individual leaves, we have a script that runs to delete the id
and move all files in "home" directory to one which we have named "orphan".
We then archive that data some time later to a cd and give it to line
management. No problem if there is less than 650mb. The issue becomes
time consuming when there is a larger amount than that where we try to
decide where/how to make the break in files and max out cds as well.. Our
group has the task of doing this chore. To pass the decison on directory
structure and its break up back to the supervisors is out of the question
as more often than not they are clueless. I guess we could write this type
of script, but why should we re-invent the wheel. Any help would be great.
Ciao
