Hi,
the users manual for my mainboard says that it "features a built in 3D
graphics controller integrated in the SiS 620 chipset".
When I tried to set up X11 I first used XF86Setup which did not work at all
(grey screen, nothing happened). Later I read that XF86Setup does not work
with Standard VGA on my chipset.
Then I used the xf86config program which produced a config file that made it
possible to start the GUI in a very low resolution. CTRL-ALT-+ or - did not
change anything.
During the start I get a prompt that tells me
"SVGA -- using builtin driver modes
builtin mode 320x200"
My next step was to edit the /etc/XF86Config file manually, which did not
lead to any success.
Does anybody know a solution? Otherwise I have to return to w*nd*ws ;-)
bye, Alex
