/usr/src/linux/.config

Should hold the current config. It may also be /usr/src/linux-<version>/.config

Set CONFIG_SMP=y

And that should do it for you, or you can rerun make config and pick 'Symetric
Multiprocessing' under Processor Type and Features and Leave the rest how it
comes.
