Lawson, Ray, James, thanks so much for the info.. Indeed, the problem why
with my old kernel my network module (and possibly others) wont work because
of the version problem. I am never aware of the EXTRA_VERSION variable as
something that affects modules. Is the modules directory created as a result
of this becomes searched my insmod too?
Meanwhile, I had the box reinstalled by a collegue who at the very least can
follow through installing linux.. Once it's up, i can start working on SMP
again...It's difficult coz Im in the philippines and the server's in the
US.
Thanks.
