Sure. This is a nice "miscallaneous" list.

I'm not familiar with your distribution, but the standard is ctrl-alt-+
and ctrl-alt-- (plus/minus). That is if you do have several resolutions
available. See /etc/X11/XF86Config (this is a RedHat location for the
file) for a list of resolutions in the screen section towards the end of
the file.

This is best changed in linuxconf: look for something like "default boot
mode: text & network vs graphic & network". I can't check now where it is
excactly

Some program is still using the CD: open a process manager - "top",
"ktop" (KDE), "gtop" (Gnome) - whatever you have in this Stormix and try
to find it. Kill! kill! (but be careful, be sure of what you kill). All
installing via various rpm, deb, yast tools must be done as root,
btw. Beware: this advice (about killing apps from "top" is potentially
dangerous!

This means you did not shut down gracefully. No shutdowns by "ye olde
reset button" or power switch are allowed. Do a shutdown -h now (or
halt) or shutdown -r now (or reboot), or use ctrl-alt-del. If you're doing
this right, the problem is elsewhere.
