Makes a lot of sense to me Jill.
And I've been looking into that side of it.
for a test I made a dir under my home dir and copied around 400 megs of
files to it.
That worked OK, so I don't think it's an overall space problem.
The /home partition went up to 6% used after copying the files.
The new account I made last night didn't notch up a lot of cached stuff
either as I'd
only checked 1 or 2 web pages with it before it started to play up.
If it was a quota problem, I shouldn't have been able to copy all those
files???

We seem to have a real ISP and/or routing problem at the moment, so it's
a bit hard to
do online tests right now. Email's still working.

As it seems to be related to an account once it's been used a number of
times, I might
look into deleting /home/user files (for my test user) that netscape
uses and see what
happens. If that does something, then maybe individual netscape files.
It might narrow the problem down.
