Yeah the ssh daemon is not running depending on what distribution you're
running you have to put it in the boot system. i.e
/etc/rc.d/init.d in redhat /sbin/init.d/ in SuSE.
but probably for redhat just putting it in rc.local should be enough to
make it work.

the docs however do say that you should not start ssh from inetd as it is
slow to start and has to generate random seed etc.
