this way:
4000 suid
2000 sgid
400  read for owner
200 write for owner
100 execute for owner
40  read for group
20 write for group
10 execute for group
4 read for others
2 write for others
1 execute for others
thus 2755 is
rwxr-sr-x where the s in the group field indicates sgid status i.e the
program runs unger the group id of its group owner.
