Make sure the /netlogon directory actually exists on your machine.
And then set encrypt passwords = yes and run smbpasswd -a username
then use that very username and password to log onto your windows
machine. However that user should also exist in your unix passwd file i.e
he should also be a user on the linux machine.
the /netlogon directory does not have to have anything as long as it
exists as a directory.
